About
Seeing baby roaches after an extermination can be frustrating, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the treatment failed. Here are four common reasons why this happens:
1. Eggs Were Not Affected by the Treatment
Most insecticides used in extermination kill adult roaches but may not affect eggs. Since cockroach eggs are protected in a hard casing called an ootheca, they can survive the treatment and hatch later, leading to the appearance of baby roaches.
2. Hidden Nests Are Still Active
Cockroaches are experts at hiding. If the extermination didn’t reach all their hiding spots, some eggs and nymphs (baby roaches) may remain. Over time, they emerge as they continue their life cycle.
